Young NOPHO

Young NOPHO annual meeting Young physicians and researchers dedicating their clinical and scientific work to paediatric oncology in the Nordic countries but have not yet acquired a formal specialisation organise themselves in Young NOPHO (YN), a working group within the Nordic Society for Paediatric Haematology and Oncology. The task of the YN working group is (1) to facilitate transnational exchange, promote education, and communicate scientific progress for YN members as well as (2) to represent interests of YN within the maternal NOPHO.

A major improvement during the last years was the steady increase of active participation of YN at our annual YN meetings (coinciding with the annual NOPHO meeting). In 2017, more than 40 YN members talked about clinical cases, held scientific presentations and discussed the future of YN. Apart from strengthening the cohesion within the group, a major task of the annual meeting is to collect suggestions for improvement of clinical, basic-research and translational paediatric oncology from the perspective of the next generation of
paediatric oncologists and to convey our ideas and criticisms to NOPHO.
