Research grants
The Swedish Childhood Cancer Fund is the single largest financier of childhood cancer research in Sweden, and also provides financial support to the development of new treatment methods and continuing education in the field of childhood cancer.
The research that the Swedish Childhood Cancer Fund grants can be divided into three types.
Project grants
Awarded once a year. Project grant applications are assessed by the Swedish Childhood Cancer Fund’s research committees – sometimes with reference to opinions by external specialists to support the assessment. After receiving the committee’s assessment, the Swedish Childhood Cancer Fund decides on the distribution of grant monies in December every year.
Research positions
Awarded once a year. The applications are assessed by the Swedish Childhood Cancer Fund’s research committees. After the assessment by the committee, the Foundation decides on the allocation of positions in March every year.
Travel grants, grants for symposia, graduate courses, methodology studies, guest speakers and start-up grants
Awarded three times a year. The grant applications are assessed by the overall Chairman of the Swedish Childhood Cancer Fund’s research committees in consultation with scientific secretaries.
