The Swedish Childhood Cancer Foundation is a non-profit association financed by donations and bequests. The Foundation receives no financial support from the state, county councils or municipalities.
Seven childhood cancer associations are members of the Swedish Childhood Cancer Foundation, and the Foundation acts to promote co-operation and co-ordination between these associations. One member and one deputy on the Swedish Childhood Cancer Foundation Board represents each of the seven associations. This Board is appointed by the annual general meeting, held early in the summer. To run its operations the Swedish Childhood Cancer Foundation has a secretariat managed by the acting chairman.

Since 1995, the Swedish Childhood Cancer Foundation has been a member of the International Confederation of Childhood Cancer Parent Organization (ICCCPO). ICCCPO is a worldwide network of organizations of parents of children with cancer.
